NEW PASTOR TO BE INSTALLED AT WITHEE
Rev. Douglas R. Groenewold will be installed as pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, and Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood, on August 19, at 8:15 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Rev. Groenewold was born in Spencer, Ia., February 13, 1941, and graduated from Everly Community. High School in 1959. He received his B. A. degree from Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Ind., in 1963 and continued his studies for the ministry at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo.
Upon graduation from Concordia Seminary in 1967, he accepted a call from the board of Missions to serve as an evangelistic missionary in New Guinea. He served there until the end of 1972 when he returned to the United States for a furlough. He has since been studying at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in graduate school.
Pastor Groenewold and his wife, Sonia, have two children.
