Wm. Barrett brought to this office on Thursday last a branch from a tomato vine containing thirteen full sized samples of that fruit.
V. Laurent, having sold his farm south of town to Thos. Bolin for $1200, will have an auction at his place on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, at 10 a.m.
The Medford ball club will play the home club on the grounds here on Sunday afternoon next. The game will be interesting. Everybody invited.
Wm. Ogle was fined $50 and costs or 90 days in jail before justice Geo. Parkhill on Saturday evening last for using some language which was not considered very respectful in a conversation which he (Ogle) had the day previous with Jas. Connors. Ogle paid the fine and costs amounting to $60.98.
Jas. Ogle was arrested on Monday on a warrant sworn out by John Duffy charging him with assault. A trial by jury before justice Parkhill resulted in a disagreement and the case was again tried by a jury on Tuesday when the prisoner was found not guilty and discharged.
