Zickert, Ricky R. (19 Feb. 1950 - 12 June 1987)

Ricky R Zickert, age 37, of rural De Soto, WI, formerly of Neillsville, died Friday Morning, June 12, 1987, during an electrical accident at Cedar Rapids, IA. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Luke’s Hospital.

The Gesche Funeral Home handled arrangements and funeral services were on Monday, June 15, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, Wis. Rev. Richard F Weber officiated with Janice Mayer and Sharon Nemitz providing the music. Internment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Ricky was born in Neillsville to Franklin L and Bernice M (Boon) Zickert on February 19, 1950. He attended St. John’s Lutheran School and Neillsville High School. In 1969, he entered the U. S. Army and as a Spc. 4 served in Vietnam and was discharged in 1971. He returned to Neillsville and attended UW-Stevens Point for a year and was then employed by Trane Company, La Crosse.

On February 20, 1982 he married Kathleen J Marg in Neillsville, Wis. Zickert has been living in De Soto for the past nine years.

Surviving Terry is his wife; a son, Isaac at home; his mother, Mrs. Bernice Zickert, Neillsville; two sisters, Linda Zickert and Cindy (Michael) Wortman, both of Neillsville; two brothers, Frank L, Marshfield and Dennis of Morrison, IL; his wife’s parents, Marvin and Bonnie Marg of Neillsville, Wis.

Preceding Terry in death are his father Franklin and a brother Terry.

Pallbearers were Thomas Drescher, Steve Mathy, Raymond Spanjers, Tom Wren, David and Daniel Marg.
