Lila Mae Stabnow, age 94, of Greenwood, died at 1:45 p.m. on June 25, 1999, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, Wis.
Lila Mae Syth was born November 7, 1904, in Greenwood to William and Pearl (Boon) Syth. On July 2, 1926, she married Carl Stabnow in Greenwood.
She lived in Greenwood all her life while working in Owen, Greenwood and Marshfield, taking care of people. She enjoyed gardening, canning, her flowers, crocheting and quilt making. She belonged to card clubs and was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary Post 238, for 70 years. She lived at the Black River Apartments for several years before entering the nursing home in Neillsville in 1991.
Surviving her is one son, William Stabnow of Willard; one daughter, Ruby (Wilbert) Adams of Greenwood; one grandson, four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Greenwood with the Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phillip Gungor, Jeff, Phillip and Floyd Struensee, Wayne Genteman and Randy Stabnow. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood and again from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
