Liepert, William (6 JUN 1884 - 4 APR 1905)
A fatal accident occurred at the Northwestern ore docks yesterday afternoon about four thirty when William Liepert, an employee, received injuries which caused his death four hours later at Rinehart’s Hospital. Liepert was employed on top of the dock and while at his work yesterday the boom of the hoisting derrick struck and knocked him off, he falling a distance of seventy-four feet. His skull was fractured and many bones of his body were broken. Liepert’s home is Colby, Clark Co., Wis., and since Christmas he has been living here with his sister, Mrs. Ed Schreiber, at 1003 Second Av. West. His mother arrived this morning and the remains will probably be taken to Colby for interment. (Ashland News)
The remains arrived here Thursday and the funeral held from his mother’s residence in the town of Colby, Sunday.
