Carlson, C.W. (11 DEC 1865 - 5 NOV 1905)
Died, C. W. Carlson at his home in the East Ward, of typhoid fever, Sunday forenoon, Nov 5th, 1905, at 11 o’clock, aged 40 years, 10 months and 25 days.
Deceased was born in Sweden, Dec. 11th, 1865, and in 1896 came direct from that country with his family to Colby, Wis., going to work at the coal kilns for the Ashland Iron & Steel Company. When the kilns were abandoned at this place he continued to work for the same company at other places, his family remaining here. At the time he was taken with LaGrippe, Oct. 16th, he was working at Hinkle, Iron Co., and a week later returned home. His disease developed into typhoid fever and despite the efforts of the attending physician and his wife, he gradually failed.
He leaves to mourn his early death, his wife, seven children, his mother, Johanna Carlson, sister, Mrs. John Larson, and brother Victor Carlson, residing in the town of Hull, a sister, Mrs. Swanson of Ashland, and two brothers in Sweden, all of whom have the sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral was held from the M. E. Church, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. J. James officiating.
