Schmidtke, Augsuta (6 July 1865 - 6 Jan. 1935)
Mrs. Augusta Schmidtke of Fremont Township, who had been a patient at Neillsville hospital for several weeks passed away Sunday Jan. 6, aged 69 years and six months.
Deceased was born Augusta Schultz, July 6, 1865, in Germany. She grew to womanhood there and was there married to William Schmidtke.
In 1890 they came to this country and settled on land in the town of Fremont, where they developed a farm home. Mr. Schmidtke died in 1906.
Funeral services were held for Mrs. Schmidtke at the home and at Maple Works Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Rev. Arthur Laesch officiating. Burial took place in Yolo Cemetery in Fremont. Mrs. Schmidtke is survived by the following named children:
Gustav, Otto, Paul, Herman and Mrs. Gusta Madler, Fremont; Henry, Hankinson, N. D.; Mrs. Clara Murrell and Ernest Schmidtke, Menasha; William, Granton; Mrs. Ella Dumas, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Caroline Mulvey, Clintonville; Mrs. Mae Dankemyer, Chili. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Three children died in infancy. A brother, Adolph Schultz, lives at Spencer.
