Ewell, Birdie (27 May 1885 - 4 Feb. 1934)
Although the death of Mrs. Birdie Lippert Ewell occurred almost a year ago, many of her Neillsville friends are unaware of the fact, and through the kindness of Frank Hemp, we were able to get a short sketch of her life, which is herewith published.
Birdie Lippert was born at Madison May 27, 1885, to Mr. and Mrs. George Lippert. She died Feb. 4, 1934, at Warm Springs, Montana, at the hospital in which she had been head nurse of the operating room for 15 years.
She was taken sick in November, 1933, with spinal meningitis. For a time she appeared to be gaining and great hopes for her recovery were maintained, but she suffered a relapse from which she could not really.
Mrs. Ewell leaves one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Packard, who lived at Cambridge, Wis., and two grandchildren, who she had visited just before she became sick, and a number of brothers, and sisters, one of whom, Clara, Mrs. George Trachte, lived at 1339 E. Johnson St., Madison.
The Lippert family made Neillsville their home for many years - a fine large family, and their many friends will be saddened by hear that another member of that family circle has been taken by death.
The body was laid to rest at Timber Lake, S. D., where they made their home after leaving Neillsville, Wis.
