McCarthy, Blanche (Engagement - 1935)
[first part of this sentence is unreadable] - Miss Blanche McCarthy, who formerly taught History in Neillsville high school, is soon to marry Richard J. White, a prominent Appleton insurance broker. After leaving Neillsville about 1920, Miss McCarthy taught in Appleton high school. Since her appointment as field secretary of the State Teachers association, she has lived in Madison.
She is Wisconsin director of the National Educational association, and a member of the joint commission on the Emergency Education. She was one of the principal speakers at the convention on Federated Woman’s club held last October.
Miss McCarthy spoke at a teachers’ institute held in Neillsville last year and was greeted by a number of her former pupils.
