Zarnke, Carl (9 OCT 1833 - 21 DEC 1907)
Died, at his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Saturday, Dec. 21st, 1907, of general debility, Mr. Carl Zarnke, aged 74 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Carl Zarnke was born in Brandenburg, Germany, Oct. 9th, 1833. In 1882 he came to America with his family and settled in Calumet Co., Wis. In 1887 he came to Colby and settled on the farm in the town of Hull where he resided up to the time of his death.
He was always an active and energetic man, both physically and mentally until about two years ago when he suffered a paralytic stroke since which time he had been confined to the house, most of the time in his bed.
Besides a devoted wife he leaves one daughter, Mrs. August Brandes of Hilbert, and two sons, William and home, and Carl in Wausau, to mourn his death.
The funeral services were held from St. John’s Church in this city, Tuesday, Rev. J. Bizer officiating.
