Mrs. Emmet Stone of Minneapolis accompanied by her children, visited relatives here last week, returning home on Saturday.
Holzhausen's new cheese factory at Zimmer's corners in the new town of Reseburg is nearly ready to commence its seasons work.
F. D. Winter has carpenters at work on his new store building which will soon be up and enclosed. It will be a handsome structure.
Victor Fellows has purchased a machine for making brick at a rate of 15,000 per day, and expects to begin manufacturing in a short time.
Miss Lizzie Kelley, teacher in the second primary, has been ill for several days past, and Miss Julia Garrison has been teaching in her department.
Frank Garrison, president of the Centralia power and pulp mills, who also has large business interests here, visited with his brother, L. O. Garrison and family at this place on Sunday last.
The Garrison Bros. bank fixtures were moved into the old quarters last week. The bank is insured in the Fidelity and Casualty Co., of New York, against burglary and in every way solid as a rock.
Some burglarously inclined thief broke into the Leinenkugel's ice house near the depot on Friday night of last week and abstracted several kegs of beer therefrom. The thief evidently knows this firm's article is superior to all others as other brands heretofore stored in that building have never been disturbed.
G. N. Worden, formerly a salesman for the Cleveland Casket Co., who is wanted in this county for forgery, was arrested at Modesto, Cal., on Friday last. Gov. Peck will be asked for a requisition and he will be brought back here by sheriff Page and held for trial.
