Darlene Herrmann, 64, Colby, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at her home. Funeral services were held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 24, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery, town of Colby. The Rev. John Malik officiated.

Darlene Pfeffer was born on May 16, 1941, in Spencer, to Frank and Margaret (nee Graebel) Pfeffer. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Colby, Wis. High School. She married Glenn Herrmann on April 10, 1964, in Pine City, Minn. She went to work as a teller for Colby State Bank, now known as Mid-Wisconsin Bank, working both at the Colby and Unity branches. She retired in September 2000, after 41 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Chequamegon Bird Watching Club. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, bird-watching, and polka music, but especially cherished the time she could spend with her husband, family, and three grandsons. She was also a lover of cats.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of 41 years, Glenn Herrmann, Colby, her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" (Rev. Daniel) Zimmerman, Loyal; her mother and best friend, Margaret Pfeffer, Unity; and three grandsons, Luke, Ben and Zach Zimmerman.

Preceding her in death was her father, Frank Pfeffer, in April 1993.
