Anderegg, Robert Walter (May 11, 1919-September 20, 1999)

Robert Walter Anderegg, age 80 of Appleton, died Monday, September 20, 1999 at the Appleton Medical Center.

Robert was born May 11, 1919, in the Town of York, Clark County, WI, the son of William and Lorette (Baldwin) Anderegg. He attended the Mound School, north of Christie, and then went to work with his father and brothers at a saw mill in Hurley, WI. He later returned to the area and worked on a dairy farm in Granton, before going to work for the H. Roerboel Grocery Store. On January 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Florence Campbell in Neillsville, Wis. They moved to Milwaukee, where Robert worked for the Stolper Steel Factory. On May 19, 1943 he began his service in the United States Army serving in World War II as a Medical Technician. After the war, Robert returned to work at the Stolper Steel Factory and later for the Badger Meter Manufacturing Co., where he worked for 32 years before retiring in 1981. Upon retirement, Robert and Florence lived in Iola, Marion, and Waupaca, WI, currently residing in Appleton. While living in Marion they delivered Meals-on-Wheels to the elderly and were members of the Marion Senior Center. Robert will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife, Florence; one son, Michael (Linda) Anderegg of Goodman, WI, two daughters, Susan (Arthur) Boeck of Fox Lake, WI, and Linda (Herman) Green of De Forest, WI; five grandchildren; and one sister, Anita Robinson of Cape Coral, FL. He is further survived by many nephews and nieces.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers; Elmer, Chuck and Ed; and one sister Evelyn.

Funeral services for Robert were held at 11 a.m. Friday September 24, 1999 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor Craig Conklin of the United Methodist Church officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank as organist and Pastor Mary Ann Conklin, as soloist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with Military rites accorded by the Neillsville Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post # 73. Visitation was from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were: Brian and Kevin Boeck, Michael Drake, David and Laura Green, and Joe Rodomski.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Robert’s family with arrangements.

God saw him getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him, And whispered, "Come to me". A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands now rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
