Three or four inches of snow fell last week which has evidently come to stay. Winter promises to be a long one.

W. R. Munroe, of the Stanley Journal, was a visitor here on Saturday last and made a pleasant call at this office.

The Sons of Veterans will give a dance at Hipke & Gerging's hall on Thanksgiving (Nov 20) Tickets including supper, $1.50.

Max Kann, of Boyd, was in town on Monday selling horses. Max is not feeling well these days and is almost giving away good teams to get rid of them.

E. R. Wiley and Dr. McCutcheon secured water service last week by putting in the necessary piping. Marshal Leibole does the work in a substantial manner.

Supervisors E. R. Wiley, Thos. Dunn, E. Meade, Wm. Jerard and Ole Samulson went to Neillsville on Monday last to be present at the annual meeting of the county board.

Wallace Maybie will sell several horses and stock at auction at his farm on Friday, Nov. 16. J. B. Clark will dispose of considerable stock and 70 sheep in the same manner on Nov. 20.

State Veterinary, T. J. Toussant was in town last week for the purpose of examining a horse owned by Aug. Rusch which was supposed to have the glanders. It was found that the horse was not suffering with glanders.
