Engelmann, Wilhelmina (19 Oct. 1859 - 21 Nov. 1935)
Mrs. Wilhelmina Engelmann Stucki, aged 76, widow of the late Rev. Jacob Stucki, for 46 years missionary among the Winnebago Indians of Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday morning, Nov. 21, 1935, at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. David Grether at Decatur, Indiana.
Since the death of her husband in May, 1930, she made her home with relatives in Iowa and Nebraka, residing in Indiana with her step-daughter, Mrs. Grether recently.
The deceased was born in Mosel, Wis., Oct. 19, 1859.
There are eight step-children surviving her. They are: Mrs. David Grether, Decatur, Indiana; Mrs. C. F. Bopp, Youngstown, Ohio; Dr. J. C. Stucki, Brighton, Colorado; the Rev. F. E. Stucki, Waukon, Iowa; Johanna Stucki, Black River Falls, Wis.; Henry Stucki and the Rev. Benj. Stucki, Neillsville, Wis. Four brothers also survived namely, the Rev. Otto Engelmann, Schaller, Iowa; the Rev. Fred Engelmann, Boston, Massachusetss; Augsut Engelmann, Beatrice, Nebraska; and Julius Engelmann, Slater, Iowa.
Funeral services were first held at the Magely Reformed church, Decatur, Ind., on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Frank Rupnow of Ft. Wayne, assisted by the Rev. Paul Graeser, formerly of Wausau, Wis., in charge.
The body was then transported to Black River Falls for burial. On Monday afternoon a funeral service was held in the Indian Mission Chapel in charge of the Rev. E. H. Vornholt of Zion Reformed Church, Neillsville, the Rev. Paul Franzmeier of Greenwood; and the Rev. John Mohr of Stratford, president of the Sheboygan Classis, assisting. The body was ladi to rest by the side of her deceased husband in the Indian Mission Cemetery in the midst of the people she and her husband served for many years.
