Holmes, Hal Benjamin (26 Sept. 1859 - 9 Dec. 1935)

H. B. Holmes for many years a resident of the town of Lynn died at his home there Monday evening, Dec. 9, 1935, after a long period of ill health, due to a complicationof diseases.

Hal Benjamin Holmes was born at Albany, N. Y., Sept. 26, 1859. The family on coming west settled first in Fond du Lac County. When a young man Mr. Holmes came to the town of Lynn, where he has lived ever since. On Dec. 14, 1881 he was married to Miss Helene Iakisch of the town of Lynn. They settled on land there and developed a fine home.

Mr. Holmes was a man of intellingence and enterprise and took an active part in the affairs of the town and school district. He helped to organize school district No. 4, of the town of Lynn, served as district clerk, supervisor and chairman of the town board. In every way he was a fine citizen and a good husband and father.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Gertrude and Inez, both at home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m., at the home and 2 o’clock at the Union Church in Granton, Rev. Paul H. White officiating.
