Rittenhouse, Levisa G. (1853? - 20 MAY 1909)
Colville, Wash., May 21, 1909 - Mrs. Levis Georgiana Rittenhouse, wife of S.H. Rittenhouse, died at the Bacon home, one mile east of Colville, yesterday, from blood poisoning.
The infection began with a splinter in the thumb a week ago and the woman was brought to the hospital but failed to recuperate.
Mr. and Mrs. Rittenhouse have lived for the last five years on their homestead, 12 miles east of Colville. They formerly lived at Grangeville and Lewiston, Idaho, where Mr. Rittenhouse was well known in mining circles. The deceased woman was married to her husband at Watertown, Wis., her native home, 21 years ago, and was 55 years old at the time of her death.
The above clipping was sent to C.W. Harris from St. Joe, Idaho, by his daughter, Mrs. Theo. Lavigne, and will be of interest to many of our readers. The deceased lady was the daughter of the late Capt. Chas. Wood and resided on the farm east of Unity, Wis. a few years previous to her marriage. She taught school three years in District No. 2, town of Hull, Marathon Co.
