Ziegler, Ann Marie (Marriage – 24 May 1975)
Marriage vows were exchanged May 24 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Chili, by
Miss Ann Marie Ziegler and Donald James (Chester) Oldham. The Rev. Donald Klauke
officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony which was followed by an afternoon reception
at the Wildcat Inn and an evening dance at the Chili Corners Club.
Presented in marriage by her mother, the bride is the daughter of Mrs. Merna
Ziegler of Rt. 1 Granton, and the late Emil Ziegler. Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Oldham, Rt. 2 Neillsville, are the groom’s parents.
The bride’s empire was gown of ivory satin with an overlay of ivory bridal lade
was complimented by a lace-trimmed waist-length veil held by a Juliet cap. Cream
roses and soft-pink miniature carnations formed the bridal bouquet.
Mrs. Verlan (Peggy) Schofield, West Allis was the matron of honor and Mrs. Terry
(Judy) Coyle, Granton, was the bridesmaid. Both are sisters of the bride. Their
gowns of baby blue crepe flocked with pink flowers were fashioned by Mrs.
Schofield, as was the bride’s gown. Their hats of blue and pink, respectively,
were accented by contrasting ribbon trim. Each carried a basket arrangement of
white daisies and blue statice.
The groom was attended by Verland Schofield, West Allis, as bestman and Terry
Coyle, Granton, as groomsman. Guests were seated by Tim Oldham, Rt. 1
Neillsville, nephew of the groom, and by Ms. Jodyne Bruggeman, Rt. 4 Marshfield,
niece of the bride.
The bride’s nephew, David Schofield of West Allis, was the ring-bearer.
“The Lord’s Prayer,” “God of Our Fathers” and “The Wedding Song” were sung by
Mrs. Kerry Maslowski. Michael Bruggeman was the organist.
Hostesses at prenuptial showers honoring the bride were Ms. Pam Gress and Mrs.
Judy Coyle.
The new Mrs. Oldham is a 1973 graduate of Granton High School. Her husband
attended Neillsville Public Schools.
The newlyweds are living in Neillsville.
