Mauritz, Louis A. (2 NOV 1887 – 24 MAR 1971)
Louis A. Mauritz, 84, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday
at the Marshfield Convalescent Home, where he had been a patient since 1967.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Methodist Church in
Dorchester, with the Rev. Henry Bahrenburg, pastor, officiating. Burial was in
the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Mauritz was born November 2, 1887, in Weyauwega. He was married there April
10, 1910, to Edith Parge, who preceded him in death in 1954.
He had been employed as a section foreman by the Soo Line Railroad for 30 years,
after which he served as constable at Abbotsford for 10 years.
Survivors include a son, Mile Mauritz, California; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lila
Phaneuf, Abbotsford; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, and
two sisters.
Pallbearers were Al Holtzhausen, Cecil Oehler, C.J. Klieforth, Jack Nikolay,
Hans Amacher and Anton Carlson.
