Plansky, Margaret (29 MAR 1911 - 26 APR 1989)

THORP, Clark Co., Wis. - Services for Margaret Plansky, 78, who died Wednesday at Thorp Care Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp.

The Rev. John Puerner will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Thorp Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. Friday, with a parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service at 7.

She was born March 29, 1911, in Merrill, to Frank and Emelie Kisslinger. She attended Merrill schools and Lincoln County Normal School.

She was married to Richard W. Plansky Sept. 2, 1933, in Merrill, He died May 30, 1970.

She was a school teacher and taught at Merrill country schools for three years. She and her husband then lived in Edgar until 1941. They then moved to Thorp and she taught in the Thorp Catholic School systerm until her retirement in 1976.

She was a member of Christian Mothers, Women Catholic Order of Foresters, the Retired Teacher’s Union and the Lionesses of Thorp.

She is survived by three sons, Richard of Hudson, and Jim and John, both of Thorp; two daughters, Marilyn Plansky of Marshfield and Paula Andres of Bellingham, Wash.; one brother, Gordon Kisslinger of Sydney, British Columbia; and four grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents.
