Keuer, Elizabeth (5 FEB 1845 - 5 OCT 1928)

Mrs. Elizabeth Keuer, a prominent Clark County citizen, died at the home of her son, John Wieting, on South Grand Av. In Neillsville, on Friday morning at 2 o’clock, at the age of 83 years and 8 months.

Mrs. Kuier, whose maiden name was Miss Elizabeth Wieting, was born in Germany on Feb. 5, 1845. She was united in marriage to Henry Keuer, who preceded her in death in 1906. To this union two children were born, one daughter dying in infancy and the surviving son, John Wieting of Neillsville, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Kuier came to America many years ago and settled in Wisconsin, at Brillion, where they lived several years. Coming to Clark County, they settled on a farm near Granton, where Mrs. Keuer remained until July 1928, when she became ill and was moved to the home of her son at Neillsville, Wis. Here she received the best of care and everything was done to make the closing days more comfortable and pleasant, but on Friday morning she was called home by her Heavenly Father.

Deceased was a most devout Christian woman and was an active member of the Mapleworks Lutheran Church at Granton for many years. By kind deeds and willing service, she gained a large number of friends in the Granton community where she lived for so many years.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Mapleworks Church at Granton, with Rev. V.M. Keiper, pastor of the Mapleworks Church, officiating. Interment took place in the town of Grant Cemetery beside her husband.

Besides the son, John Wieting of Neillsville, deceased is survived by four grandchildren: Mrs. Alfred Carl, Tony Wieting, Mrs. Erick Lueck, and Mrs. Irvin Carl, all whom reside in the vicinity of Neillsville, Wis. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Duge and one brother, John Ott.
