Plauman, Bertha (12 DEC 1857 - 21 SEP 1928)

Mrs. R.L. Plauman, a resident of Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis. for many years, died in Chicago on Friday evening, Sept. 21, 1928, after many months of serious illness, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 9 days.

Mrs. R.L. Plauman, whose maiden name was Bertha Gumz, was born in Pommerania, Germany, on Dec. 12, 1857. She was married to Rudolph Plauman on March 18, 1880 and soon after came to America and settled in Clark County, Wis. One daughter was born to them, Mrs. F.E. Barr of Chicago.

Because of failing health, Mr. and Mrs. Plauman sold their property in Neillsville and moved to Chicago, where Mrs. Paluman could have the care of her daughter. On Friday morning, at 7:30 o’clock, after months of suffering, Mrs. Plauman passed away and her body was sent to Neillsville, arriving Monday morning.

Mr. Plauman, husband of the deceased, arrived Sunday night by car, coming with his daughter, Mrs. Barr and husband.

The funeral services are being held at the German Reformed Church at Neillsville on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. Edwin H. Vornholt, pastor of the Neillsville Reformed Church, officiating. Burial is to take place at the Neillsville Cemetery.
