James D. Reel, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Reel, Route 1, Colby, recently was
promoted to Army Sergeant while serving with the Americal Division in Vietnam.
Sgt. Reel is a mortar man with Company E 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry of the
division's 198th Light Infantry Brigade near Chu Lai.
The sergeant entered the Army in September 1969, completed his basic training at
Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and was stationed at Ft. pol, Louisiana, before arriving
overseas in February 1970.
He is a 1966 graduate of Colby High School. He was employed by Rollohome,
Marshfield, prior to entering the Army.
