Graikowski, Mary (18 JUL 1848 - 16 MAR 1935)

Mrs. Mary Graikowski, wife of the late John Graikowski, Sr., of the town of Withee, Clark Co., Wis., died at the St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls on Saturday, March 16, 1935, cancer being the cause of her death.

Mary Imbierovicz was born in Poland, July 18, 1848, and had reached the age of 87 years, 7 months and 26 days. Upon reaching womanhood she was united in marriage to John Graikowski. They came to America in 1891, residing in Peru, Ill. After living three years in Peru, they came to their farm in the town of Withee where she has been a resident for 41 years, her husband preceding her in death 8 years ago.

She was a devoted mother, and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. Though her hours of suffering were long and hard, she bore each one patiently until God’s soothing hand gently close her eyes, eased the pain and tenderly lifted her to His Kingdom above.

From us she has departed. Her work on this earth is don, but her sweet and loving kindness, in memory lingers on.

She leaves to mourn three sons, Mike, John and Joe Graikowski, all of Thorp; three daughters, Mrs. Clemence Harburda of Michigan, Mrs. Jos. Kryzanski of Thorp, and Mrs. Frances Switala of Milwaukee; also 36 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

The pallbearers were: Anton Lesniewski, Frank Jasinek, Thomas Slupski, John Hmielak, Adam Wojteliewicz and Stanley Slupski.

May her soul rest in peace.
