Heimann, John J. (23 AUG 1886 - 17 JUL 1935)

John Heimann, residing on his farm one mile west and one mile south of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), was fatally injured on Wednesday morning last by a new team of bronco horses her had recently purchased. The team had been hitched to the wagon, the noise of which stampeded the horses and in his attempt to control them he fell beneath their heels, resulting in crushing his skull and various injuries. He was taken to the hospital at Stanley where he died on Thursday morning.

John Joseph Heimann, aged 48 year and 11 months, was born Aug. 23, 1886, at Charlestown, Calumet Co., Wis. He was married to Elizabeth Miller, Sheboygan, Aug. 27, 1918.

Deceased leaves his wife, two sons and one daughter: Robert, Wilfred and Marilla; five brothers, Andrew of Thorp, Anton, Frank and August, New Holstein, Aloys of Sherwood; seven sisters, Mrs. Catherine Mertens and Mrs. Geo. Meyer, Thorp, Mrs. John Kasper, Moscow, Idaho, Mrs. August Nistler, New Holstein, Mrs. Joseph Mueller, Chilton, Mrs. Aloys Woefel, New Holstein, Mrs. Joseph Groeschel, Chilton.

Funeral services took place on Monday morning from St. Bernard’s Church, Father a.m. Muckerheide officiating, interment following the services in the Catholic Cemetery.
