Lund, Myron (18 APR 1849 - 5 SEP 1935)

Myron Lund, the eldest of three brothers, was born on the Corinth homestead in the state of Vermont, April 18, 1849, and died at Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., Sep. 5, 1935, arriving at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 18 days. He attended the district school and spent four terms at the academy in Corinth, Nov. 1865 he came to Wisconsin and located in the township of Edson, Chippewa Co. He was married June 23, 1870, to Elizabeth Andrews, and five boys were born to this family. The eldest died when three months old and the fourth at the age of seven years and four months. James Edson resides at Thorp, Vernon Myron at River Falls, and Chubb Andrews at Eau Claire, Wis. In the early days he was engaged in saw milling. In 1904 James Connors, C.F. Rainey and Myron Lund organized the Thorp Telephone Co., later he purchased the interests of his partners and became the sole owner, conducting business until the time of his death. The last trip he took was June 23rd, when all the family gathered at River Falls to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and four grandchildren.

Rev. Warner, Grand Chaplin, and members of the I.O.O.F. order conducted the services from the I.O.O.F. Hall.

The Rebekah Order attended in a body, Mrs. Grace Rusch sang two solos.

The Pallbearers: Peter Kronberg, Mike Kronberg, A.W. Emerson, L.M. Hanson, Reid Gibbs and Wm. Hickman. Honorary pallbearers: Henry Leibole and T.O. Mosher.

The remains were laid at rest in the Union Cemetery at Edson.

Koepke, Bloomer, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Welzein of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mohr, Mr. and Mrs. Noah Mock, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mitchell, Miss Hattie Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell and son Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Cooley and daughter June, Mrs. Sarah Mason, William Ecker, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Mitchell and Miss Mary Grindle from Stanley.
