Baron, Anton (27 SEP 1866 - 3 SEP 1935)

Anton Baron, farmer, died of Diabetes Mellitus at his home north of Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., on Sept. 3, 1935. He was born on Sept. 27, 1866, in Poland and had reached the age of 68 years, 1 month and 6 days. He came to Chicago in 1886 where he was united in marriage to Julia Stojak on Nov. 25, 1891, and in 1899 came to Thorp. Deceased leaves to mourn, his wife and nine daughters, Mrs. Sophie Hudacek, Mrs. Flugiel, Mrs. Agnes Gawel, Julia and Helen Baron, of Chicago, Mrs. Rose Hodera, Mrs. Katie Szpara, Victoria Baron and Mrs. Frances Tomkowiak, of Thorp, also one sister, Mrs. Julia Rog of Bedford, mass, and sixteen grandchildren.

The funeral took place at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church Friday morning at ten a.m., Rev. F.A. Kulig officiating, with burial in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. The following sons-in-law acted as pallbearers: Joe Hudacek, Vincent Gawel, Joe Flugiel, of Chicago, Tom Hodera, John Szpara, and Peter Tomkowiak of Thorp.
