Bizer Joan I. (Wesle) (18 MAY 1931 - 28 MAY 2019)

Joan I. Bizer peacefully returned to her husband's arms Tuesday, May 28 2019 while residing at Dycora Transitional Living Center, Abbotsford for nearly 2 months, gently cared for by Dycora staff, Hope Hospice and her children.

Joan was born May 18, 1931 to Walter and Anna (Kraemer) Wesle. She attended Pine Tree School and graduated from Medford High School, was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper by Klinner Insurance and Bootzin's Feed Mill. Ivan Bootzin threatened her job if she did not go out with Harold Bizer, whom she married June 15, 1955. They moved to their town of Browning dairy farm in 1958 and farmed together until semi-retiring in 1993. They raised four children and provided each of them with a college education.

Joan loved gardening, canning, and freezing the produce and as she retired her beautiful flower gardens. She was a fantastic cook, baker and often delighted her family with desserts made of any berry she could pick. Beside farming, gardening, and housekeeping, she managed to keep her girls beautifully dressed in clothing she sewed for them. Once retired she enjoyed her flowers, travel with her husband, 3rd Tuesday lunches with dear friends, bible study in their home and watching her grandchildren's sport events. Little made her happier than hosting the best Christmas celebrations, holiday meals, picnics and birthdays. Long tranquil car rides, reading and crossword puzzles filled her free time and in later years, she became a skilled rummy player, beating Harold on a regular basis.

Harold passed away February 22, 2019. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and active in bible study until their collaborative health declined.

She is survived by her children and her children by marriage: Suzanne (George) Mathews, Medford, Linda (Rick) Sorenson, Onalska, David (Dawn) Bizer, Medford and Brian (Kristi) Bizer, Reno NV. She dearly loved her grandchildren: Dustin Mathews, Leigh (Mike) Henline, Jaclyn Bizer (Josh Gollhardt), and Derrick all of Medford. Her great-grandchildren brought her much joy: Andrew, Madelyn and Abigail Henline of Medford.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Harriet (Raymond) Meyer, Audrey (Reiny) Klingbeil, and brother Glen Wesle, her dear sister in law Dorothy survives.

A memorial service for Joan will take place 11:00am on Monday, June 3 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, with Rev Donald Bruce officiating. Burial will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery I at a later date. Visitation will take place Sunday, June 2 2019 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford chapel, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and continue at the church on Monday from 10:00am until the service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Hope Hospice of Medford.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
