Jacobi, Elaine M. (Gruny) (12 HAN 1934 - 28 MAY 2019)
Elaine M. Jacobi, 85, of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at
Aspirus Care & Rehab, Medford where she had resided for the past 20 months.
Per Elaine’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
Elaine was born on January 12, 1934, in the Town of Medford, to Henry and Irmal
(Gowey) Gruny. She attended Medford and Dorchester elementary schools, and was a
1951 graduate of Dorchester High School. She was married on September 30, 1961,
at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, to Lawrence Jacobi. He preceded her in
death September 25, 2014.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at Schreiber’s IGA in Dorchester. After her
marriage, she worked at the IGA and Hedler’s Grocery Store in Colby,
owned/operated Duffy’s Bar in Colby, managed a motel in Thorp as well as the
Welcome Inn Motel in Medford. She enjoyed knitting, dancing, playing cards,
watching sports on TV, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a
member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.
Elaine is survived by children Sheila (Bob) Frazier of Mount Vernon, WA and
Diane Jacobi of Medford; and grandchildren Lindsey Frazier of Bellingham, WA &
Logan Frazier of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by a sister, Marleen Lindau of
Medford.
Elaine is predeceased by her husband, parents, and twin infant sons – John &
Joseph Jacobi in May, 1963.
