Meier, Charles C. (January 25, 1926 - January 18, 1995)

Charles C Meier, age 68, of Neillsville passed away on January 18, 1995, at 11:27 p.m., at Memorial Medical Center at Neillsville, of natural causes.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21, 1995, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. Paul Reede officiating. Friends of the family were pallbearers and place of burial was Neillsville City Cemetery.

The body lay in state at Gesche Funeral Home Friday, January 20, from 6-9 p.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the services.

Charles was born on January 25, 1926, in Neillsville, the son of Aldof and Christine (Dobes) Meier. He received his education at St. John’s School in Neillsville, Wis. He married Janet Rosandich on May 3, 1975, in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe.

After his education he farmed with his father in the Town of Levis. He entered the Army in January of 1946 and served until April of 1947. He was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA. After his discharge he moved to Owen; where he worked in various occupations. In January 1961 he moved to Pine Valley where he farmed. After his marriage to Janet, the couple farmed until 1992 and then moved into Neillsville, Wis. Charles loved working with his horses on the farm.

Charles is survived by his wife, Janet: one son, Charles (Debi) Meier of North Freedom; three daughters; Mrs. John (Patricia) Iwaszczenko of Edgar; Mrs. Gene (Irene) Hohenstein of Neillsville; Mrs. Douglas (Jane) Zank of Neillsville; five stepsons: Larry (Sandra) Erickson of Las Vegas, NV; Dennis (Ruth) Erickson of Spencer; Gary (Donna) Erickson of Neillsville; James (Agnes) Erickson of Neillsville; Kevin Erickson of Neillsville; three step-daughters; Linda Roehl of Wausau; Sandy Erickson of Wausau; Mrs. Ralph (Karen) Weber of Neillsville; 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers; Frank (Marie) Meier of Salem, OR; William (Lillian) Meier of Neillsville; Clarence (Marie) Meier of Neillsville; three sisters, Dorothy Quast of Neillsville; Ella Meihak of Neillsville; and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Beyer of Neillsville, Wis.

He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters and his parents.
