Carol M. Will, 81, of Medford, a former Town of Ogema resident, passed away on
Saturday, May 18, 2018, at Our House Assisted Living, Medford where she had
resided for the past 2 years, most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 1 at Good Shepherd Catholic
Church, Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Interment of her cremated
remains will take place at Mount Olive Cemetery, Westboro.
Visitation will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Rib Lake from 10 AM
until the time of services at 11 AM on Saturday, June 1.
Carol was born on September 8, 1937, at Medford, to Walter Fred and Gertrude
Mildred (Rudolph) Will. She attended various elementary schools, was a graduate
of Prentice High School and received an associate’s degree in accounting from
UW-Superior. She never married.
After her education, she worked at the Phillips courthouse as the Clerk of
Probate Court/ Probate Register, Clerk of Juvenile Court and Court Commissioner
for 44 years until retirement. She unveiled the portrait of Judge Bjork in a
special court proceeding to memorialize Judge Bjork.
When she started as the Juvenile court clerk, they saw 23 cases per year then
towards the end of her career there were 175 cases a year. She was the longest
serving Register in Probate in the State in the summer of 1997. She witnessed
the old Court House that was torn down and the new one built. She served as
secretary of BB/BS of Price County for a time. She enjoyed playing and spending
time with her nieces/nephews, playing cards, traveling, reading crossword
puzzles and flower gardening.
Carol was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Rib Lake where she
received an award for years of mailing bulletins to congregants who could not
make it to church.
She is survived by sisters-in-law: Susan Will of Ogema and Leona Will of
Prentice, along with many nieces and nephews.
Carol is predeceased by her parents and brothers Bruce & Clark Will.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the
American Cancer Society, local chapter - 611 W Doege St, Marshfield, WI 54449.
