Steinberg, Carl F. (18 APR 1851 - 10 DEC 1937)
NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - Funeral services for Carl Frederick Steinberg, 86, a resident of Clark County for more than 50 years, who died Friday evening at the Neillsville Hospital from old age infirmities, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, at 1:30 o’clock from the Lowe funeral home and at 2 o’clock from St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. William A. Baumann will officiate and burial will take place in the Globe Church Cemetery, town of Weston.
Mr. Steinberg was born in Germany on Apr. 18, 1851, remaining there until after his marriage in 1884, coming to the United States in 1886 and settling on a farm site in the town of Weston, where he resided with his family until 1917, when he moved to Neillsville to make his home.
He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Anna Quast, Weston; Mrs. Bertha Scheffler, Custer, Mich.; Mrs. Alvin (Theresa) Foster, Marshfield; Mrs. Erich G. (Paulina) Schoenherr, Weston; Mrs. Martin (Emma) Hauge, Neillsville; Reinhold Steinberg, Chicago; Otto Steinberg, Fairchild, and Albert Steinberg of Fargo, N.D. His wife preceded him in death in 1917.
He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and by 22 great-grandchildren.
