Rienow, Fred (11 JAN 1865 - 20 AUG 1943)
COLBY, Clark Co., Wis. - Fred C. Rienow, age 78, died at his home in Colby, Friday noon at 12:30. Death was caused by complications due to old age, following an illness of several years. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Lulloff Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Otto Hoffman officiating. The body will be in state at the funeral home until the services. Burial will follow in the Colby Cemetery.
Mr. Rienow was born in Germany on Jan. 11, 1865, and came to America when a young man, making his home near Mayville, Wis. He was married to Anna Wellnitz on June 18, 1916, at Spencer, where he operated a general store. For many years he also worked as lumberman in the north woods. For the past six years they had made their home in the city of Colby.
Surviving him, besides his widow, is their daughter, Mrs. J.E. (Doris) Tesmer of Colby. He also has six children by a former marriage: William Rienow and Mrs. Charles Braem of Marshfield; Mrs. Cora Deerling, Wausau; Leonard Rienow, Park Falls; Fred J. Rienow, Eagle River, and Mrs. Evelyn Williams of Waukesha. One half-brother, Herman Ihlenfelt, and one half-sister, Mrs. Etta Deichsel of Marshfield, also survive.
