Meier, Adolph E. (18 MAR 1888 - 28 SEP 1959)

NEILLSVILLE, Clark Co., Wis. - The Rev. Norman Lindloff will officiate at funeral services in St. John’s Lutheran Church here at 2 p.m. Thursday for Adolph E. Meier, 71, who died Monday at his home on route 3, Neillsville, Wis. Burial will be made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

The body will repose at the Georgas Funeral Home from this evening until noon Thursday, when it will be removed to the church.

A lifelong resident of Clark County, Mr. Meier was born in the town of Levis March 18, 1888. He attended school in Neillsville and farmed until his retirement 11 years ago. He was married Sept. 14, 1908, to the former Christine Dobes, who survives him. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.

Mr. Meier was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and had served for 12 years as clerk of Carlisle School.

Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ella) Meihak, Neillsville; Mrs. Frederick (Dorothy) Quast, route 3, Neillsville; Mrs. Harold (Helen) Bauer, Mineral Point; six sons, Adolph Jr., Neillsville; Frank Salem, Oregon; Arthur, route 1, Neillsville; Charles, Owen, and Clarence on the home farm; a sister, Mrs. Lena Seidelman, Neillsville; a half-sister, Mrs. Ernest (Caroline) Ott, Neillsville; and Albert Babcock; 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers and one sister.
