Fleischman, Joseph W. (31 AUG 1896 – 7 MAY 1971)
Military services for Joseph W. Fleischman, 74, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.),
who died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, were conducted by the
Abbotsford American Legion post at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Polnaszek Funeral home.
Funeral services were Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev.
Keun Won Park officiating. Burial was at the Abbotsford Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Hans Amacher, Alfred Anderson, Ken Ingersoll, Chet Knight, Richard Kops and
James Andrea.
Mr. Fleischman was born August 31, 1896 in New Lisbon, Wisconsin. He came to the
Owen (Clark Co.) area as a young man and received his education in the Owen and
Withee schools.
He was married December 15, 1917, to Elsie Kauffman in Owen. He had operated a
meat market in Owen until 1919, when he came to Abbotsford, where he opwned and
operated a meat market until his retirement.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a World War I veteran.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Kilty, Unity;
three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
