Lemke, August (19 JAN 1855 - 16 JAN 1936)

Mr. August Lemke who has made his home with his son Frank on a farm to and one-half miles west of Park Falls for the past several years passed away on Thursday January 16th.

August Lemke was born in Germany on January 19, 1855. At the age of thirteen years he came to America on a sail boat and in 1882 he was married to Miss Minnie Arndt at Loyal, Wisconsin. To this union was born nine children, two of whom died in infancy.

Surviving are Ida Bolieau of Wakefield, Michigan; Ella Horsman of Spring Valley, Minnesota; Arthur, Frank, Emil, Fred and William Lemke of Park Falls, Wis. Also surviving are two sisters Mrs. Henry Domer of Oshkosh and Amelia Jennings of Milwaukee.

Mr. Lemke will be remembered by many of the older residents of the Town of Unity where he lived for many years on a farm five and one-half miles west of Unity, and by many people in Loyal where he was well known.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Schoenfeld from the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon at one o’clock in Park Falls.

thankyou for posting August Lemke's obit. He was my great grandfather .I knew he had more children than the ones from Park Falls , but no names to go on .
