Vischer, Mrs. E.G. (? - 10 MAR 1911)
The Phonograph is in receipt of a card from Rev. E.G. Vischer, a former Colby, Clark Co., Wis. pastor, announcing the death of Mrs. Vischer, which occurred at her home in Marion, Waupaca County, on Friday, March 10th, 1911. The many friends here of Mr. and Mrs. Vischer were deeply grieved to learn of her death.
"God touched him with his finger, and he slept," the poet wrote. So may we say of this dear life, "God touched her with His finger, and she slept," but not until a beautiful life was lived, a noble example of patience, fidelity to truth and faith were given. Not until visions of a heavenly life had cheered and illumined the valley of the shadow. And now that she sleeps, memory takes up the harp of life, and smiting the strings, finds that her virtues melt into music. So it ever is, when a life is nobly and divinely lived.
