Mrs. George H. Fessler (Mabel) of Abbotsford, Wis., died at the hospital in Chippewa Falls last Friday, March 17th, 1911, where she had been taken the Monday previous for treatment. She was formerly Mabel Gilford and before her marriage resided at Unity with her aunt, Mrs. Sam Shafer. The funeral and burial took place at Unity, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. H. Bastow officiating.

George Fessler was born 31 Oct 1878 in Sheboygan county, Wisconsin and worked as a shoemaker in both Abbotsford and Antigo, Wisconsin where he owned his own shops. He died 19 Dec 1958 in Madison, Wis. at the Dane Co., Hospital. He first married Mabel Gifford of Unity, Wisconsin, 8 Nov 1908 and after her death, he married Neillie Fisher Fake (b. 1878, Wis.) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 12 Feb 1912. Nellie also had two daughters, Eliza (b. 1902) and Alma Louise (b. 8 Mar 1905, River Falls, Wis.). By 1920, the family was living in Antigo, Langlade Co., Wisconsin. Nellie's father, John Fisher (b. 1843 - OH) made his home with them. Nellie died 5 Sep 1926 in Antigo, Langlade Co., Wisconsin.

Alma Louise Fake/Fessler married Cyreno Melvern Stebbeds (b. 13 Feb 1900 in Rock Co.,
Wis., d. 21 Mar 1988 in Eugene,Oregon) Their son, Jack Warner Stebbed was born in Antigo, Wis., 14 Aug 1924. Alma's second marriage to Charles Rudolph (b. 1901 - Kentucky) occurred in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan and their daughter, Betty J. Rudolph was born there in August, 1929.

Jack Warner Stebbeds, Sr. served in the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. He built a successful company called M&S Spring Company with his Partner Faro Misuraca in the early 1960's in Warren, MI. The company later moved to a bigger building in Clinton Township, MI. He retired in January of 1990 and sold the company to William Tillinger (Son-in-Law of Faro Misuraca).

Mr. George Fessler of Abbotsford and Mrs. Garfield of Unity were married at Judge Nagel’s house last Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock. After the ceremony they drove to Stetsonville where they partook of a wedding supper at the home of the groom’s sister (Minnie Fessler), Mrs. Wm. Knopp. They will make their home at Abbottsford where the groom is in business. Here’s our best wishes for a happy future, George.
