Bracht, Richard (? - 23 APR 1911)

Colby Lodge No. 234, I.O.O.F. is in receipt of a letter announcing the death of Brother Richard Bracht, which occurred at his home in Florence, Calif., on Sunday, April 23rd, 1911, of walking typhoid. The funeral was held Tuesday, April 25th, and the interment took place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Richard Bracht was for many years a resident of the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., coming here from Sun Prairie. He was an honest, upright citizen, and filed offices of trust in his home town, and was for several years clerk of the high school board. After selling his farm he moved intot he city and about four years ago went to California to reside. He continued to hold his membership in Colby Lodge and his brother Odd Fellow join with the many friends in this community in extending expressions of sympathy to the surviving relatives. There are no records here by which we can get the date or place of birth, but as he served his country during the civil war, we venture to say that he had nearly reached the three score years and ten age.
