Salter, James A. (1863? - 16 SEP 1911)

James A. Salter, brother of R. B. Salter of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), John W. of Unity, and Frank J. of Prentice, died at his home in Milwaukee, on Saturday, Sept. 16th, 1911, of an acute attack of the kidneys. Jim, as he was familiarly called by all his friends, was born on the Salter homestead in Washington, Co, Wis. forty-seven years ago, where he grew to young manhood. He entered the employ of Lindsley Bros of Milwaukee, seventeen years ago, but resigned his position about a year ago on account of failing health, and spent a portion of the past year on the farm. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Miss Margaret, six brothers, and three sisters to mourn his early death, all of whom were present at the funeral, which was held from the home, Monday afternoon. Interment took place in Forest Home Cemetery.
