Mund, John (23 Oct. 1854 - 10 Feb. 1936)

*First part cut off** died at his home in that town Monday, Feb. 10, 1936, aged 81 years, 3 months and 18 days. Mr. Mund had been declining in strength for sometime past, and his death was due largely to old age.

John Mund was born Oct. 23, 1854, at Pottstown, Rensselaer County, New York. When quite young he came with his parents to Washington County, Wisconsin, where he grew to manhood. At the age of 24 he came to Clark County and bought land in the Town of Weston, which became his home until his death. Oct. 4, 1884, he was married to Miss Jessie Lyman, Rev. W. T. Hendren, a pioneer minister, performing the ceremony.

To this union four children were born: Elmer of the town of Seif; Byron on the home farm; Mayme, Mrs. Henry Kuester of the Town of Warner; Lillian, who died infancy. He leaves also nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Bodwin of the town of Weston, and Mrs. Rosa Bahr of Spring Valley, Wis. His wife preceded him in death many years ago.

Mr. Mund early took an active part in local affairs, represented the town on the county board for 18 years and was otherwise active in town and school district business. He was highly respected by all who knew him.

The funeral will be held at two o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Schiller’s Funeral Home, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Weston Cemetery.
