Rowe, Edward M. (12 Oct. 1854 - 1 March 1936)

Edward M. Rowe, whose death occurred March 1 at Fresno, Calif., was born Oct. 12, 1854 at Camden, N. J., his parents moving to Plymouth, Wis., when Edward was 2 years old. He grew to manhood in that city where he worked at the carpenter trade with his father, J. J. Rowe.

Mr. Rowe came to Clark County about 1885 and on Dec. 12, 1888 was married to Miss Dora S. Smithers at York Center. Mr. and Mrs. Rowe and family moved to Neillsville in 1895 and lived there until 1918? when he and Mrs. Rowe moved to Chicago. Two years later they moved to Fresno where they had lived ever since.

Surviving Mr. Rowe are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. V. C. Burrows of Fresno, sons, Ralph E. and Clement A., both residents of Santa Ana, Calif., and six grandchildren, Ava and Don Borrows, Betty Lou, Robert Donovan and Jack Rowe, two brothers, Byron W., of Plymouth and George S. of Milwaukee and a sister, Mrs. Mary Redmond, Minneapolis.

MR. Rowe was a member of the Modern Woodman of America since the early nineties. He was devoted to his family and highly respected and enjoyed a wide friendship while a resident of this city and community.

The funeral was held March 3 at Mission Chapel with services being conducted by Dr. Walter C. Buckner of First Methodist church. Pallbearers were members of the Foresters of Fresno. Burial was in Belmont Memorial Park.
