Mrs. LouAnn Weix, daughter of Mrs. Bertha Rueden, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.),
received her diploma from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Friday
evening, May 21, 1971. The group of 45 nurses was the fifty-fourth class to be
graduated from the school.
Commencement exercises were held in the senior high school auditorium at 8 p.m.
The nursing graduates, along with graduates of the schools of medical and
radiologic technology, and histologic technique, formed a procession to the
music of "Pomp and Circumstance." Following the invocation, given by Father
Agnew, David R. Jaye Jr., Hospital Administrator, extended greetings to the
graduates.
The commencement address was delivered by John S. Hirschboeck, M.D., Coordinator
of the Wisconsin Regional Medical Program, Inc., and former Dean of the
Marquette Medical School. He spoke on the "opportunities for the health
profession."
