Tennant, Richard C. (18 JAN 1840 - 14 OCT 1912)

"Dick Tennant is dead," was the report circulated in Colby, Clark Co., Wis., Monday forenoon, and it was hard to believe, but a telephone message from Abbotsford verified the report.

Dick was one of the early settlers in this section, having settled on a farm in the town of Holeton, Marathon Co., nearly forty years ago. He later moved to Abbotsford and engaged in the hotel and livery business, but for the past few years has lived a retired life in a fine residence on a beautiful spot in the northern part of Abbotsford, Wis. He was loved and honored by all who knew him.

The funeral will be held at Abbotsford, this Thursday afternoon, and the body laid to rest in the Colby Cemetery, beside the dear wife who was laid in the family lot last April.
