Kyle, Mary Sue (29 April 1947 – 15 June 2019)
Mary Sue Kyle, age 72, of Neillsville, died Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the
Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
Mary Sue Hoffmann was born on April 29, 1947 in Neillsville, the daughter of
Carl F. and Nelda A. (Hagedorn) Hoffmann. She graduated from Neillsville High
School in 1965 and then was united in marriage Ted Kopp Jr. in February of 1966.
While raising their family, Mary Sue also worked outside of the home at Bohmer’s
Café, the Moonlite Inn and the School District of Neillsville, where she worked,
over the years, as a janitor, bus driver and cook. She and Ted divorced in 1990,
and later that year she graduated with a Medical Lab Technician degree from CVTC.
Mary Sue moved to the Madison area with her daughter, Jennifer and worked as a
Medical Lab. Tech. On April 27, 2002 she was united in marriage to Lawrence J.
Kyle, her best friend and rock in life, at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Neillsville. In January of 2003 she retired from the Marshfield Clinic Health
System, where she had been working since moving back to this area.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville. She enjoyed
crafting, was a highly skilled seamstress and cake decorator, often doing both
for weddings. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and quilting and she loved to help
anyone and everyone. Her biggest pride and joy in life was her grandchildren and
great grandchildren and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, four children, Angela (James) Linneman
of Eau Claire, Brad Kopp of Wausau, Melissa Homan of Waupun, and Jennifer “Pooh
Bear” Kopp of Madison, two step-children, Scott (Jill) Kyle of Neillsville, and
Becky (Bruce) Hynes of Ettrick, four grandchildren, Rachel (Joe) Zimmer, Amanda
Kopp, Madi and Hope Homan, two step-grandchildren, Andrew and Michelle Kyle,
three great grandchildren, Landon and Aria Zimmer and Ayden Roberts, a sister,
Dianne Thompson of Rockford, IL, special sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Sister
Marie, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved Yorkie Terrier, Wesley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Arlene, brothers, Rick and
Lewis Hoffmann and a brother-in-law, Phillip.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Sue will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday,
June 22, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be
Rev. Varkey V. Joseph. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in
Neillsville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Gesche
Funeral Home and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary’s.
