Mantik, Sally Kay (5 JUN 1971)
First Baptist Church in Medford was the setting Saturday, June 5, 1971, for the
marriage of Miss Sally Kay Mantik, Wausau, and Mark L. Arndt, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Arndt, Medford.
The Rev. Albert Stroh performed the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, Sally wore a traditional wedding gown of
English lace with detachable train, styled with a molded bodice having a fitted
ruffle neckline of sheer organza defined with narrow Venice braid.. The hi-ride
waistline was encircled with a band of the narrow Venice braid, and the braid
also trimmed the short puff sleeves bordered with a wide ruffle of sheer
organza. The semi-bouffant skirt was softly shirred at the waistline and the
transparent removable panel train was trimmed with a wide border of the English
lace.
She carried a cascade bouquet of white and aqua daisies, baby's breath, and ivy.
A small cluster of daisies and baby's breath held her fingertip veil.
The groom's sister, Miss Kris Arndt, Medford, was the maid of honor. The
bridesmaids were Mrs. Don Peissig, sister of the bride, Benton Harbor, Michigan;
Mrs. Jerald Mantik, bride's sister-in-law, Abbotsford; and Mrs. Norman Dassow,
Medford. The bride niece was the flower girl.
The bridal aides wore dresses of flowered white sheer over aqua lining, empire
waist, short puff sleeves, mandarin collars trimmed with lace flowers. They wore
aqua straw hats and carried large baskets of pastel daisies and baby's breath.
Perry Arndt of Medford served his brother as best man. The groomsmen were Don
Peissig, bride's brother-in-law, Benton Harbor, Michigan; Jerald Mantik, brother
of the bride, Abbotsford; and Norman Dassow, Medford. The ring bearers was Jamie
Armstrong of Park Falls.
A reception and buffet supper in the church parlors followed the ceremony.
The couple are on a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin, after which they will be
making their home in Medford.
The new Mrs. Arndt graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1968 and is
presently employed as a bookkeeper at the State Bank of Medford.
