Lueloff, Theodore (19 AUG 1874 - 27 DEC 1913)
Theodore Lueloff, one of the proprietors of the Colby Granite & Marble Works, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, at 4:30 Saturday morning, Dec. 27th, 1913, of paralysis of the bowels, following an operation for appendicitis, aged 39 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Theodore was operated for appendicitis at the hospital in Chippewa Falls, Oct. 27th, and returned home Nov. 15th, but instead of gaining in health, his pains increased, and Dec. 2nd he was taken to Marshfield, where a second operation was performed. He made a strong fight for his life, but fate had decreed otherwise, and he passed away.
Theodore Lueloff was born on a farm in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc Co., Wis., Aug. 19th, 1874. He came with his parents to Colby Feb. 10th, 1899, and with his father and brother Fred, established the Colby Granite & Marble Works, and by hard work and strict attention built up a fine business. He was married Nov. 25th, 1903, to Miss Ida Augustin of Green Grove, Clark County, who with five children, Lucille, Reuben, Gertrude, Orland and Veda, survive to mourn a kind and loving husband and father. He is also survived by his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Lueloff, four brothers and two sisters, August of Milwaukee; Ed, Mrs. Otto Langjahr and Fred of Colby; Mrs. John Keenan of Mellen, and Herman of Brillion, all of whom were present at the funeral.
The funeral services were held at St. John’s Ev. Church, Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Lienk, and largely attended by relatives and friends from the city and neighboring towns, The E.F.U. Lodge, of which he was a member, attended in a body and conducted the services at the grave.
