Mitte, Robert (1 JAN 1858 - 7 FEB 1914)
(Neillsville Times)
Last Saturday afternoon Robert Mitte met death in a distressing manner. He was engaged with his brother, William, in felling some trees at their farm near Globe, Clark Co., Wis., and Robert was caught under a falling tree and his leg badly crushed. The two men were along in the woods and William ran to summon neighbors to carry the injured man home. Just as they arrived the injured man died. His leg had been crushed and the femoral artery broken and he had bled to death while his brother was summoning assistance.
Deceased was born in 1858 in Germany and was unmarried. He was well known and well liked by all his friends and neighbors and his untimely end is a matter of sincere sorrow to them. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the Globe Cemetery.
