Prior, Robert (25 JAN 1922 – 2 JAN 1975)
Robert Prior, 52, of 200 W. South Street, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), was dead on
arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield January 2, 1975 at 4:30 p.m. He had
suffered a heart attack at his place of business in Loyal.
A committal service was held at 10:00 a.m. with a scripture reading by Rev.
Humlie and a Prayer, Psalm 23 by Rev. Carlson.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, at the United
Methodist Church, Loyal. The Rev. Eugene Carlson, pastor of the United Methodist
Church, officiated, with the Rev. William Humlie, pastor of Trinity Lutheran
Church, Loyal, assisting.
Pallbearers were Byron Zepplin, Wilbur Kehrberg, Vern Dahlby, Gerald Kobiske,
Gerald Zettler, and Morvin Benedict.
The flag was presented by Jesse Raab on behalf of the American Legion.
The congregation sang, "Joyful, Joyful," and "All the Way My Savior." Mrs. Ray
Feldt was organist.
The Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.
A Masonic service was held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
Robert Prior was born on January 25, 1922, at Wauconda, Illinois. He came to
Loyal in 1926 and received his education in Loyal school, graduating from Loyal
High School. He attended the Midwest School of Horology in Albany, Missouri, and
served his watchmaker apprenticeship in Wausau. He started Prior's Jewelry and
Gifts in Loyal in 1948.
Robert Prior was a member of the Loyal Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Consistory of
Eau Claire, the Eastern Star, American Legion, and Rotary Club.
He was a world War II veteran, serving in the Air Force in the 8th Troop
Squadron.
He was married on June 10, 1945 to the former Dorothy Kronberger, who survives
him.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by three sons, Michael,
Madison; Scot, Yakima, Washington, Mitchell, at home; and one daughter, Maureen,
at home; is parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Prior, two brothers, Calvin Prior,
Greenwood, and Norman Prior, Marshfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Ora Lee)
Giese, Rice Lake, and Mrs. Raymond (Muriel) Ewert, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
