Catherine Pope, 83, formerly of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and a resident of Kennan, Wisconsin since March of 1974, died Saturday, January 11, 1975 at Daggett, Michigan, of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 1975 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, with burial in the Loyal Cemetery. Rev. Chester Osowski, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, officiated.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Catherine Vogel was born November 4, 1891 at Hewitt, and received her education in the Loyal Catholic School.

Her first marriage to Otto Scheel took place December 21, 1910, at Loyal. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1929. Her second marriage was to Bert Pope on August 2, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1947.

After her marriage in 1910 they farmed south of Loyal on the family farm. From 1916 to 1932 they farmed in the Colby and Unity area. In 1932 she came to Loyal and worked several years for the cannery.

Catherine Pope is survived by one son, Gerhardt Scheel, R. 1., Loyal, one daughter, Mrs. Byron (Linda) Spencer, Kennan, Wisconsin, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one brother, Louie Vogel, Memorial Home, Neillsville.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, four sisters, and twelve brothers.
